Acer palmatum Aka shigatatsu sawa

‘Aka shigatatsu sawa’ is one of my favorite maples.  It is a rare cultivar with a green, yellow, and pink color combination.  The leaves first emerge a maroon color, quickly changing to dark green veins on a yellow and pink background.  It holds its color well in partial shade.  This interesting specimen is sure to turn heads in any shady garden, eventually reaching a height of 9 feet.
