‘Kurui jishi’ is a dwarf Japanese maple growing only to 6 feet in ten years. The name means “Crazy Lion” or “Confused Lion”. Its leaves, which are very similar to ‘Okushimo’, roll inward and upward creating a star-shaped crinkly leaf. Leaf color is green, changing to yellow in fall.
