Acer shirasawanum Johin

‘Johin’ is a full moon maple whose leaves emerge purple in spring with light green veining.  Summer color is brick red.  Fall display is stunningly red, orange, and purple.  This maple was discovered and introduced by Buchholz Nursery.  ‘Johin’ is a vigorous grower reaching 6 feet in ten years.  Its name, which means “elegant,” makes a statement in any partially shaded garden.
