Acer palmatum Ukigumo

‘Ukigumo’ is an outstanding tree whose striking variegations take time to appear, yet it is definitely worth the wait!  The name ‘Ukigumo’ means “floating clouds” which perfectly describes its coloring.  The basic leaf color is green.  The variegations are marked by white or pink spots.  Fall color is a yellow-orange.  ‘Ukigumo’ needs protection from sun and can reach 6 feet in ten years.
