Acer palmatum Hana matoi
'Hana matoi' has to be the most striking dissectum introduced into the United States. Each lobe is finely divided, giving a delicate lacy effect. Base color is green with variegations of red, pink, purple, yellow, and cream, sometimes all on the same leaf! Variegations do not revert as some maples do. This pendulous maple makes a show-stopping specimen in any garden. 'Hana matoi' is a true dwarf growing only to 3 feet in ten years.
